Angela Stempel

Angela Stempel is a Venezuelan-American filmmaker and director whose animated work sits at the intersection of abstraction and character. Her films follow flawed, imaginative protagonists, told with humour and genuine empathy for the female experience.

Her work has screened at Annecy, Ottawa, Zagreb, Slamdance, and Pictoplasma. In 2021 she directed the PEN15 Animated Special for Hulu. In 2024 she completed a 45-minute animated musical special for Apple TV+ and Bento Box Entertainment.
